Mass and Energy Balances
Mass and energy balances are the fundamental physical laws.
These are actually quite common sensical concepts, whatever you have consumed or cooked, will ultimately have inputs = outputs in terms of mass, however going into the molecular level, some particles may have increased in mass but others have decreased in mass and hence overall masses remain unchanged.
Mass Balance Question
An air pump was used to blow up a tyre. Given the density of air is 1.02 kg/m^3, and the air pump operates at 10 cm^3/min, calculate how long it will take the tyre to reach a mass of 2 kg?
The same goes for energies. A moving car could have stopped. But the kinetic energy of the car has not been destroyed. It is just converted to a less useful form in terms of heat.
